Contest Rules:
- Eligibility: The contest is open to youth participants aged 8-18 residing in Lake County. Contestants must fall within one of two age brackets: 8-12 and 13-18.
- Entry Limit: Only 8 spots are available for the contest, with four spots allocated for each age bracket. Entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. If one contestant drops out of the contest, the next registered will be asked to participate. Contestants will be notified of their spot allocation via phone and email.
- Chili Preparation: Contestants are required to personally prepare their chili prior to the time of the contest. Chili must be brought ready for tasting and judging.
- Equipment Provided: Each contestant will be provided with a crock pot to hold their chili during the contest. The crock pot will be used to keep the chili warm for tasting and judging.
- Contest Schedule: Judging will take place from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on April 13th in the main expo hall. During this time, contestants will set up their crock pots and present their chili for tasting and judging.
- Voting and Judging: Tasting and judging will be conducted by Lake County Fair attendees within the designated time frame. Attendees will vote for their favorite chili in each age bracket.
- Prizes: The contestants with the most votes in each age bracket will be declared the winners. Each winner will receive a trophy and a prize.
By participating in the Lake County Fair Youth Chili Cook-off, contestants agree to abide by all contest rules and regulations.
